MAXcom

case study

“We wanted some custom music channels to offer to our customers online… without commercials… Keith and Blue Wave Radio built them for us…”

— Duane McNab - President, MAXcom

In 1989, Duane McNab’s father created Max TV Cable Services. Today, Duane runs the company and is one of Roatan’s most interesting people as he really understands the island and the people. And as things have changed dramatically MAXcom is compelled by Duane’s vision of the future and the role MAXcom plays on Roatan. Duane wanted a music service that provided 24/7 music to his viewers… and we were a natural fit… It’s a custom channel that is curated by Blue Wave Radio along with choices by Duane and other island favorites… There are currently plans for us to develop 4 more radio stations…
But what we really like to do is provide the Christmas Music Station … Duane told me the story of how his father Charles would load a VHS tape with music and play it on a channel for their subscribers at Christmas Time… If you had any idea how much work that was in the early 1990s you would probably think it wasn’t worth it… But for Mr. Charles, Christmas was a magical time of year… and it was always a time of hope for the people of Roatan… and that tradition has been continued by Duane and the MAXcom Family today…
Other things we have done is helped get the word out about some of the resources available to the customers of MAXcom is critically important. How do you pay your bill, who do you call when there is a problem that needs to be solved… This information is not always easy to find… And in 2019, MAXcom made it a goal to improve Customer Service. This in conjunction with an expansion of the Fiber Optic Network… We are happy to help them with getting the word out about these goals…

For Local Sales customer relations - We build the MAXcom’s Music Channel to provide music and you can listen to it anytime your TV is on (it plays on the Channel Guide)… We created radio commercials promoting TENGO payment locations so that people would realize they could pay at the convenience stores and super markets… and late in 2019 we worked with MAXcom’s Customer Service team to creat ads promoting the “NEW” MAXcom… Continuing the initiative to improve customer service around the clock…
